Project Overview

With Chautauqua Park being one of Boulder’s most in-demand places to visit, the Chautauqua Access Management Plan (CAMP) seeks to better manage access to the park while minimizing impacts on the neighborhood and the area’s natural and cultural resources. The ordinance that permits CAMP is set to expire at the end of 2023. This project will evaluate the effectiveness of CAMP to help inform its potential renewal and future improvements.

A range of lived experiences will help ensure that the project evaluation reflects the needs of Chautauqua visitors, staff, neighborhood stakeholders, and underrepresented visitors at Chautauqua Park.

Learn more on the project webpage.

What is CAMP?

During the CAMP season, which runs in the summer from Memorial Day to Labor Day on weekends and holidays, the program includes:

  • Paid parking at Chautauqua

  • A summer Neighborhood Parking Permit program on several residential streets north of Chautauqua

  • Free shuttles from remote parking lots and downtown Boulder, including the Park-to-Park and HOP 2 Chautauqua shuttles

  • A park ambassador program

  • Employer transportation demand management programs
