"On April 1, 2009, I sold the last car that I owned.
About 8 days later, I did my last eGo Car Share rental. Turns out, that was
the last day I drove a car. I’ll get in cars when I need to – maybe once a
month – but otherwise, I'm busing or bicycling or walking. That includes
getting places for work. It helps being in Boulder. I started the
transition to going without a car in Greenbelt, MD, and the infrastructure wasn’t quite so developed,
the bus system not quite so good. Most people would say, that guy’s crazy! But
it works - and it’s like taking a 2,000 pound weight off your back."
